Description

OQ00DW22	Ultrasound examinations and breast cancer diagnostics, training (3 cr)
Prerequisites	The student has passed advanced studies of Ultrasound examinations and breast cancer diagnostics and treatments.
Objectives	Breast cancer diagnostics and treatments training The student masters mammography imaging and interventions in breast cancer patients interprofessional treatment planning process. The student masters the nursing care of a patient/ client undergoing examinations and interventions in planning breast cancer treatment. The student can apply the principles of financially and ecologically sustainable development. The student demonstrates good working skills in his/her behavior. Ultrasound training The student masters the key contents related to the use of ultrasound and ultrasound equipment and the special features of nursing care of a patient / client undergoing ultrasound examination and procedure. The student masters the basics of an adult´s ultrasound examination. The student can apply the principles of financially and ecologically sustainable development. The student demonstrates good working skills in his/her behavior.
Content	Breast cancer diagnostics and treatments training Protocols of mammography examinations and procedures. Special features of nursing care of a patient/ client undergoing examinations and interventions in planning breast cancer treatment, Quality assurance and radiation protection in mammography examinations and interventions. Aseptic and ergonomic procedures in examinations and interventions planning breast cancer treatments. Ultrasound training An adult´s ultrasound examinations and procedures. Special features of nursing care of a patient / client undergoing ultrasound examination and procedure. Quality assurance of ultrasound examinations. Protocols of ultrasound examinations. Asepticism and ergonomics.
