The Degree Programme in International Business has been designed to meet the requirements of internationally oriented small and medium sized enterprises. It is intended for both Finnish and international students wishing to seek employment in international trade and marketing.The programme takes 3.5 years to complete. The extent of the degree is 210 ECTS cr. The programme consists of 60 ECTS cr of basic studies, 90 ECTS cr of professional studies, 30 ECTS cr of practical training, 15 ECTS cr of free-choice studies and 15 ECTS cr of a Bachelor's thesis. The programme leads to the Degree of a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA, in Finnish Tradenomi). Studies include study modules such as business skills, international business, sales, marketing, creative competences and digital business. Practical training is carried out during the autumn term of the third year either in Finland or abroad. The Degree enables versatile career options. After graduation students typically work in international marketing and sales, international co-operation, logistics and controlling. The programme emphasises interaction within a multicultural group and it comprises of lectures, e-learning environment, discussions, group works, presentations, projects, case studies and working-life co-operation. Students have access to up-to-date computer facilities. Many of the courses are delivered in co-operation with visiting lecturers from foreign partner universities. Students are encouraged to complete a part of their degree, including practical training, in partner institutions in Europe, Asia and the USA. The special needs of a student can be taken into consideration in the student's personal study plan. Students can apply to a Double Degree Programme at a partner university either in the United States or Germany.
