YY00BH47 LEAD Solution Development (10 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisites.
Objectives The student defines the states of concept development and separates business of industries of the field of study and special characteristics of it. The student studies different alternative solutions for professional tasks and problems. The student develops as part of interdisciplinary and –cultural team, solution for a work life problem or idea. The solution is justified according to research data. The student demonstrates the concept developed by his/her team. The student defines entrepreneurial mindset.
The students identify the significance of an individual's behavior on an organization's success, work welfare and work atmosphere. The students can describe their own responsibility as a member of work community and can set goals and analyze their own actions in different duties during their work careers. The students can use groups and teams in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural work community.
The student knows the characteristics and the leading principles of project work and the student is able to apply them to develop skills in her/his professional field. The student is able to work in projects.
Content Concept development; answers to questions Why?, What? and How? and methods for doing concept development, use of it and methods of implementation. Teamwork: communication in personal level as well as internal and external communication in team. Creative problem solving and methods of implementation. Developing a prototype. Innovativeness. Working in international and multicultural context. Entrepreneurial mindset.
Management and leadership skills, employment options and models, employee and organizational citizenship skills, team working skills, managerial communication, work welfare, work safety.
Project structure and planning. Project management and project organization. Work breakdown structure. Project planning tools and methods. Schedule and resources. Project communications and documentation. The application of projects in the student’s own professional field.
