The objective of the Degree Programme in Business Information Technology is to educate internationally oriented IT experts with extensive communication and business competence.
The curriculum includes studies in web development, software business, information management and digital media. Other essential areas consist of international business skills and entrepreneurship, teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural environment.
This programme emphasizes practical computer skills needed in business and work life, and comprises of lectures, computer exercises, discussions, group works, presentations, projects, and other work life originated assignments
Career opportunities include positions such as software designer, programmer, web developer, product manager, IT service officer, entrepreneur together with vacancies in various business and customer service sectors.
A variety of projects are carried out in co-operation with companies and organisations in a multicultural learning environment. Moreover, practical training and Bachelor's thesis are generally completed together with work life.
Students are encouraged to take part in international student exchange. Co-operation agreement with Neu-Ulm University in Germany provides double degree possibilities for the students of all nationalities and Northwestern Polytechnic University in California USA provides the double degree possibilities for Finnish citizens.
