4B00BG80 Finnish Business and Information Law (4 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisities.
Objectives The student understands the general areas of the Finnish legal system and the main features of the business law. The student is capable to explain the principles of the general contract law and the principles of the law of the person. The student recognizes the different types of contracts. The student is capable to explain the principles of the law of damages. The student recognizes different kinds of company forms. The student recognizes the basic principles of labor law and also the rights and responsibilities of the employer and the employee. The student is capable of recognizing the basic concepts and methods of protecting intellectual property. The student also recognizes the different types of contracts and is capable to compare the applicability to different real life situations. In addition to the above the student is capable to explain the main principles of the data protection and is also capable to apply them.
Content Immaterial property rights and their protection methods, the Contracts Act, the Consumer Protection Act, the Sale of Goods Act, form of enterprise, the data protection.
