IN00ED24 Telecommunication Application Project (15 cr)
Prerequisites This course is arranged in finnish
Objectives A student can design, implement and document an IoT-system using applicable agile project management and version control tools.

The student can select suitable wireless technology and protocols for transferring data from an IoT-device to database over the Internet. The group of students can implement a Web user interface for controlling their IoT-application and they can use version control tool for their project documents.

The student can analyze data and draw conclusions based on data using simple machine learning algorithms.

The student can apply physics in his/her project and can document results clearly.
The student recognizes business potential and can analyze requirements of a profitable business idea.

The student understands importance of communication in a company and can communicate in a project work.
Content Project. Project management with agile process control. Project requirements, design, implementation and testing in weekly sprints. (8 ECTS)

IoT-system components and their control (sensor, microcontroller, wireless communication module, web user interface and data processing)
IoT-device power consumption measurements, data analysis and measurement reporting. (3 ECTS)

Web user interface implementation as a team effort and using version control (GIT).
Machine learning algorithm implementation and utilization to data collected by IoT-system.
Business models and business logic, enterprice and branch of business analysis. (3 ECTS)p
Presentation and Poster in Finnish (1 ECTS)

The student is able to use the basic concepts learned in the course. The student recognizes the phenomena related to the course. The student is able to satisfactorily express the definitions of the course. The student completes the given tasks with guidance and knows the different procedures, but doesn’t know how to justify their choices. The student knows how to give and receive feedback by examining and evaluating from own perspective. The student can work in a group, has interaction skills and takes resonsibility for own studying.

The student solves the given tasks and uses the different procedures, knowing how to justify the choices. The student is able to give and receive feedback actively and constructively, looking and evaluating from own and environment perspective. The student can work in a group with commitment. The students have good interaction skills and are ready to develop themselves in their studies.
