Description


AT00DW67 Basic Studies in Contemporary Dance and Pedagogy (4 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the student, tutor teacher and study counsellor will go through other recommended studies in HOPS discussions.
Objectives I set skills goals and a plan for developing dance skills. I understand basic concepts of dance and variety in the reference frame of contemporary dance. I act responsibly in developing bodily capacities and dancing skills. In the learning and performance situation of dance, the basic movement material of contemporary dance in a dance specific style. I verbalize my bodied experiences and connect my experience to the phenomena of contemporary dance. I apply my bodily experiences for learning and teaching situations. I use teaching and guidance methods in a pedagogically reasoned way. I choose music that suits the objectives of the teaching situation. I assess the development and development needs of my skills and my strengths in relation to the requirements of working life.
Content Elementary and basic level material of contemporary dance.
Floor technique.
Fundamentals of improvisation. Partnering and contact-improvisation.
Understanding somatic movement methods in the context of contemporary dance.
Space, time, movement.
Information search. Interaction and reflections. Development of demonstration skills (body and verbal illustration). Planning, implementation and evaluation of the teaching system.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods I demonstrate my competence through the learning tasks instructed in the course. Specify in the implementation plan.
