AT00DW64 Advanced Studies in Ballet (20 cr)
Prerequisites Preliminary skills for the required objectives ot the course.
Objectives I draw up the learning outcomes for developing my own ballet skills and knowledge. I act responsibly in the development of competence within the framework of ballet in different learning situations and environments, taking others into account. In a dance learning situation, advanced ballet movement material and repertoire in a genre-specific style in relation to the music playing. I produce, create and teach advanced ballet movement material and repertoire suitable for learning situations. I apply a conscious understanding of physicality and body intelligence in learning and interaction situations. I analyzed core phenomena related to learning ballet skills, teaching culture and methods, and ballet as an art form.
I analyze and develop learning methods to strengthen the elements of dance learning. I apply my pedagogic skills to the goals, learning content and structure of the dance class of advanced level ballet teaching. I plan, implement and evaluate advanced level ballet teaching in a pedagogically justified way. I use appropriate professional terminology. I choose music that suits the learning situation. I plan and implement the process of preparing a dance that belongs to the traditional repertoire of ballet and a new ballet choreography. I plan and implement an ensemble suitable for the skill level from the point of view of dance knowledge. I promote informed understanding of physicality and body intelligence in learning and interaction situations. I evaluate the development of skills, development needs and strengths in relation to the ballet's operating culture.
Content Setting and reflecting on personal competence goals. Physical, psychological and social well-being in ballet. Dance technique: focus, three-dimensionality of movement, gestures of the body and hands, ability to distinguish body parts, balance and air support. Dance sense of style and expression: Multilevel expression of movement dynamics. Advanced ballet movement material including exercises on the pole, on the middle floor, sur les pointes technique and repertoire. Producing learning content. Music suitable for practicing ballet. Interaction and reflection.
Advanced level methodology, didactics and pedagogy of ballet. Development of demonstration skills. Planning, implementing and evaluating advanced ballet lessons. Learning and teaching repertoire belonging to the tradition of ballet. Creating and teaching new ballet choreography. Preparing and teaching an activating lecture suitable for the field of dance knowledge. Professional terminology. Information search. Self and peer assessment.
