AT00DW56 Basic Studies in Ballet (20 cr)
Prerequisites Preliminary skills fof the required objectives of the course.
Objectives I set learning goals to develop my own ballet skills. I understand basic anatomical concepts in the context of ballet. I act responsibly in the development of physical capabilities and dance skills. In a dance learning situation, elementary and basic ballet movement material in a genre-like style in relation to the music playing. I describe the core phenomena, teaching culture and methods related to learning ballet skills. I understand the basic elements of learning to dance. I identify the factors affecting the goals, learning content and structure of the dance class in elementary level ballet education. I describe the core phenomena, teaching culture and methods related to learning ballet skills. I plan, implement and evaluate elementary and basic level ballet teaching in a pedagogically justified way. I use appropriate professional terminology. I choose music suitable for the teaching situation and start compiling a music library suitable for dance teaching. I apply a conscious understanding of physicality and body intelligence in learning and interaction situations. I asses the development of my skills and development needs as well as my strengths in relation to ballet cultures.
Content Setting personal learning goals. Basic anatomical concepts in ballet. Basic motor skills: knowledge of movement combinations and coordination ability. Dance technique: breathing, core support and body support, alignments, grounding, weight transfer and basic spatial directions of movement.
Dance sense of style and expression: embodying the dynamics of movement and the relationship of dance to music. The basics and basics of ballet including exercises on the pole and on the middle floor and sur les pointes technique. Producing movement material suitable for studying ballet. Music suitable for studying ballet.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
