Description


AT00DW51 Orientation Studies in Show Dance and Pedagogy (4 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the student, tutor teacher and study councellor discuss other recommended studies in HOPS discussions.
Objectives I act responsibly in the development of body skills. I dance the basic movement material of show dance in a sporty style as required by the situation. I dance in relation to the playing music. I will tell you about the core phenomena, teaching culture and methods related to the learning of show dance skills. By my own actions, I promote a safe learning environment. I assess the development of competence and my development needs and strengths in relation to the operating cultures of show dance.
Content The basics of kinesthetic empathy and physical interaction, dancing in the community, basic manifestations of show dance styles, the relationship between dance and music as well as the spatial and kinesthetic orientations of show dance. Interaction and reflection. Studying the culture of show dance. Exploring the pedagogy of show dance.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Contact teaching, learning assignments, demonstration of dance skills and dance teaching skills at the assessment event and/or through the learning tasks instructed during the course. Specify in the implementation plan.

Pass:
1. I develop my professional skills through learning tasks.
2. I verbally express my experiences and combine my experience with the phenomena of show dance.
3. I recognize my learning needs and understand my responsibility in developing my own competence.
4. I dance according to the style of the material and recognize the movement management factors that are part of the dance.
5. Control of the rhythm of music is noticeable from my movements.
6. I use dance terminology.
7. I can tell about the core phenomena, teaching culture and methods of show dance culture.
8. I act responsibly in different learning situations and environments, taking into account others.
9. I evaluate my skills and development needs in relation to the operating cultures of show dance.
