AT00DW49 Basics in Pedagogical Phenomenan (3 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the student, teacher/teacher tutor/study counsellor discuss the other recommended studies in HOPS discussions.
Objectives I know the key concepts related to learning and teaching.
I recognize the ethical principles of a teacher's work.
I am able to describe basic pedagogical phenomenon.
I construct the base to my pedagogical point of view.
I evaluate my skills, competence development, development needs and strengths.
Content Educational concepts. Ethical principles in the work of teacher. Worldview, perception of people, concept of learning, values. Pedagogical view. Reflection.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Alternative methods of execution are being described in the implementation plan.
Execution methods Study options: classroom studies, independent studying and demonstration of competence through the HOT procedure. Specific information in the implementation plan.

I evaluate pedagogical phenomena and present critical or new insights or perspectives based on suitable knowledge. Perspective choices show expertise and critical and independent thinking. I demonstrate the mastery of fact-style, critical and cultural literacy and open up different levels of meaning in phenomena. I justify my interpretations by opening up the historical and social background of pedagogical phenomena and the effects of teacher activities in different situational and cultural contexts in the longer term. I combine experience with scientifically sound information and critically assess the causes and consequences. I evaluate the development of competence, my strengths and development needs.

Further Information The course is part of the vocational teacher's pedagogical studies (total 60 CR).

If the student wishes to take into account the previously acquired competence, or wishes to have an alternative method of completion of the course, the student initiates the accreditation process.
