AT00DW44 Elements of Dance and Pedagogy (5 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the student, teacher / teacher tutor / study councellor discuss the other recommended studies in HOPS discussions.
Objectives I plan, implement and evaluate dance teaching.
I set learning goals and implement the teaching I have planned.
I use a suitable dance terminology.
I choose and use suitable music.
I build my professional knowledge and vocabulary.
I recognize the elements of dance in dance teaching.
I verbally resent my experiences and associate my experience with in the phenomena of dance.
I recognize the goals of dance teaching, educational content and the structure of dance lessons.
I evaluate skills, competence and development, learning needs and my strengths.
Content The structure of dance lesson.
Group dynamics and group management.
Planning, implementation, evaluation and development of dance teaching.
Subroutines of skills. Dance lesson plan. Basics of Dance Teaching. Evaluation and feedback.
Knowledge base, information retrieval and terminology. Practices related to dance teaching.
Elements of dance: body, space, strength, time and flow, as well as relationships, combinations and interaction.
The elements of dance in different dance genres.
Reflection and evaluation.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods I participate in contact studies and demonstrate my competence through learning assignments.
