Description


AT00DN40 Music as a Tool in Teaching Dance (3 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the student, tutor teacher and study councellor discuss other recommended studies in HOPS discussions.
Objectives I understand the interactions between music and dance.
I analyse the following basic concepts of music: melody, rhythm, beat, pace and time signature, as well as the structure of the song, different rhythm layers and different instruments.
I recognize the possibilities of using music as part of the dance teacher's work.
Content Basic information about the laws, rhythms, music terminology and shape structures of music used in dance. Music listening and analysis tasks. Using music as a tool for dance teacher.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods I demonstrate my competence through the learning tasks instructed in the course. Specify in the implementation plan.
