Description


SU00DB96 Deepening Practice of Oral Health Care (9 cr)
Prerequisites The previous training must have been successfully completed.
Objectives PART 1. ORAL SURGICAL TREATMENT (1 ECTS)
The student will be able to
-prepare an oral surgical care environment
-know the aseptic procedures during in an oral surgical procedure
-know the required equipment and its maintenance
-know the role of the oral hygienist in the care of oral surgery patients
-know the steps of the most common procedures and be able to assist in them

PART 2. CLINICAL PRACTICE IN DENTOPOLIS (8 ECTS)
The student will be able to
- performs the duties of an oral hygienist and acts responsibly in his or her work.
- understand evidence-based oral health promotion
- evidence-based practice and works in a safe and patient-friendly manner.
- act as a student supervisor in the Teaching Dental Hygienist's Office
- act as a responsible nurse in the Teaching Dental Hygienist's Office
- work in multidisciplinary teams
Content PART 1. ORAL SURGICAL TREATMENT (1 ECTS)
Most common surgical instruments, prepare of surgical environments. Role of the dental hygienist in common surgical treatments.

PART 2. CLINICAL PRACTICE IN DENTOPOLIS (8 ECTS)
Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to work as a close worker. Clinical practice in a multidisciplinary setting. Students will be able to promote individual, family and community oral health care. Act as an expert in a multidisciplinary team. Includes self-assessment (1 ECTS)

PART 1. ORAL SURGICAL TREATMENT (1 ECTS)
Passed: The student knows the role of the oral hygienist and the steps of the most common procedures in the care of oral surgery patients. Know how to prepare an oral surgical treatment environment. Knows the aseptic procedures in surgery and the necessary equipment and its maintenance. To be able to instruct surgical clients in oral health care issues.

PART 2. CLINICAL PRACTICE IN DENTOPOLIS (8 ECTS)
