Objectives PART 1. ORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR CLIENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS 1.5 ECTS
The student has gained knowledge about factors affecting the oral health of persons having a disability. The student has able to plan and perform their oral health care treatment. The student has an understanding of the impact of oral health on the general health and well-being of a client.

PART 2. ORAL HEALTH OF CLIENTS WITH GENERAL DISEASE 1.5 ECTS
Factors affecting the oral health of clients with general disease. Impact of oral health on the general health and wellbeing.
Content PART 1. ORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR CLIENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (1.5 ECTS)
Factors affecting the oral health of persons having a disability. Oral health care and promotion of clients with autism, developmental disability, CP, cleft lop.


PART 2. ORAL HEALTH OF CLIENTS WITH GENERAL DISEASE (1.5 ECTS)
Oral health of persons having a general disease. Oral health treatment and promotion of clients.

The student will identify key concepts related to disability and know
the most common causes of disability. The student will know the degrees of developmental disabilities and their implications in oral health care. The student will know the impact of disability on oral health and be able to consider the disabled client in the work of the dental hygienist.

PART 1: ORAL HEALTH CARE FOR SPECIAL GROUPS 1.5op
The student will be able to describe the main concepts related to disability and know
the most common causes of disability. The student can describe the degrees of developmental disability and the impact of disability on oral health and understand their importance in oral health care. The student will be able to take into account the disability of the client in the work of the dental hygienist.

The student will be able to describe the main concepts related to disability and know
the most common causes of disability. The student will be able to define the degrees of developmental disability and understand their importance in oral health care. The student will be able to reflect on the impact of disability on oral health and develop an understanding of how to accommodate the disabled client in the work of the oral health professional.
