7T00DF01 Promoting Mental Health (5 cr)
Prerequisites First year studies.
Objectives The student knows the multidimensional definitions of mental health and psychosocial wellbeing. The student analyzes different activities on promoting mental health. The student can utilize methods and interventions in mental health work. The student can analyze the professional, multiprofessional and multisectoral aspects of mental health work.
Content Models of mental health and mental health disorders. Professional work with individuals, families and communities. Mental health rehabilitation. Challenges for the development of mental health practices in social services. Ethical principles in mental health work.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
