Objectives The student recognise the directions of change in the future of the social and health care sector. The student identify basic methods of future research and foresight. The student apply the analytical methods used in anticipating the future. The student define the concepts of welfare technology and the development of technology in society. The student recognize the ethical challenges related to welfare technology. The student identify technological applications, the possibilities of welfare technology and visions in the changing service systems of healthcare and social welfare.
Content Future thinking, history and the present. Future research and forecasting and existing methods. Factors of change related to foresight analysis; customer, political, economic, social, technological, ecological, cultural and legal. Welfare technology concepts. Technological development in society. Ethical aspects. Welfare technology applications in the client`s everyday life. Future opportunities and sustainable development of welfare technology.
