YY00DU46 Professional Development and Working Life Skills (5 cr)
Prerequisites -
Objectives I am familiar with the opportunities and services offered by the learning environment to support my studies.
I know the content and requirements of the degree and plan and monitor the progress of my studies in order to graduate within the target time.
I develop and evaluate my learning, studying and working skills.
I plan my career, analyze the specifics of my own professional field and employment opportunities by taking he future needs into account. I take advantage of opportunities for continuous learning in career planning.
I recognize my own strengths, understand their significance, and use them in my studies in job search and working life. I identify and evaluate my competence and areas for development.
I assess and develop my collaborative learning and teamwork skills. I act responsibly and constructively in work communities and communication and interaction situations in my field.
I apply and develop my working life skills in the activities of a multidisciplinary and multicultural work community and networks in my own field.
I promote well-being at study and work and know how to act in new and changing situations.

Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods -The contents of professional development and working life skills are a common theme throughout the course. The course is studied in accordance with the implementation plan.
-Professional development and the development of working life skills are made visible throughout the studies during the 1st, 2nd-3rd academic year (with the help of the personal study plan and Career Planning tool).
-Competence-based assessment. In the verification of competence, the student demonstrates what competence related to the course the student has based on the presented documentation and how it corresponds to the learning objectives and assessment criteria of this course.
Execution methods Alternative ways of learning and teaching can be used as forms of implementation.
(e.g. orientation studies, teaching/guidance situations implemented by the teacher/campus counsellor/teacher tutor, Moodle learning platforms, projects, career and job search events, mentoring and alumni activities, badges)
