Description


OS00ED93 Practical training in outpatient care (18 cr)
Prerequisites The course can be chosen when the student has completed the generally compulsory professional studies at least 140 credits and the advanced/advanced courses in acute outpatient care and/or non-urgent outpatient care and have successfully completed the medical bills for the courses.
Objectives 1.) I provide care, support and counselling to outpatients with major non-communicable diseases and acute care needs in a variety of healthcare settings.
2.) I apply my theoretical knowledge in assessing the care needs of acutely ill patients, identifying their condition and acting as a member of a multidisciplinary team in the care of acutely ill patients.
3) I treat the client/patient in a client-oriented, holistic and empowering way and support the client/patient to take an active role in their own care, supporting their commitment to care.
4.) I guide the client/patient to the well-being services he/she needs and develop services in a client-centred way.
5.) As part of a multidisciplinary team, I make a comprehensive care and service plan for the client/patient together with the client/patient.
6.) I work in accordance with evidence-based nursing and resolve ethical issues in nursing.
7.) I am able to critically examine and identify areas for improvement in nursing care and the development of my own professional competence
Content - Evidence-based nursing: IV drug and fluid therapy, therapeutic resuscitation, assessment, interpretation and support of vital signs
- Comprehensive assessment and management of the acutely ill patient
- Classification of the urgency of the need for treatment triage
- Patient counselling and support for adherence to treatment
- Outpatient care in different settings
- Health technology in patient care
- Networking and teamwork, multidisciplinary skills
