Description


OS00DX57 Emergency patient care (3 cr)
Prerequisites 1st semester of nursing studies or equivalent completed in full.
Objectives I can examine and assess the vital signs of an emergency patient
I can plan, implement and evaluate emergency patient care in different care settings in a patient-safe manner
I can act as a member of a resuscitation team in a therapeutic resuscitation
I can face the emotions of the patient and their loved ones and guide them in the acute phase.
I recognise the need for debriefing after acute situations
Content Identifying, examining and treating the emergency patient in different care settings
CPR and CPR management
Guiding the patient and their loved ones as a member of the care team
Counselling the emergency patient and their loved ones and dealing with their emotions in the acute phase
Post-acute recovery after acute situations
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
