Description


OS00DX07 Basics of Nursing - Practical Training (7 cr)
Prerequisites Completion of the internship is conditional on the successful completion of the previous theoretical modules and the related preliminary assignments.
Objectives Gain basic skills to plan, implement and evaluate patient-safe nursing care.
I can respond to patients' basic needs through nursing care, taking into account the principles of asepsis and ergonomics.
I can deal with patients in a professional and individual manner and act in nursing situations in accordance with ethical principles.
Content - Clinical competence
- Leadership, interpersonal and interpersonal skills
- Ethical competence of nurses
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The traineeship is carried out in different primary health care units in either a public or private organisation.

Midwifery and nursing students carry out part of their training in a work unit corresponding to their future professional field.

- I follow the training guidelines and the rules of the work community.
- I can act professionally in a caring and cooperative relationship.
- I understand the principles of patient safety, infection control and rehabilitative nursing and act in accordance with these principles in nursing situations.
- I understand the importance of sustainable development in nursing
- Identify and assess the health and well-being of individual patients/clients and their basic care needs
- I am able to make nursing decisions related to the basic needs of the patient and to care for the patient using evidence-based nursing practices
- I can implement safe medication management.
- I can provide written and verbal information about the care of individual patients, taking into account data protection and security in my own practice.
- I understand the importance of technology and digital methods in nursing in my practice environment
- Familiarise myself with emergency procedures, resuscitation equipment/procedures and the medication management plan in my training setting
- I can draw up a care plan for my client/patient using the nursing classification system
- Midwifery or nursing student: identify the different working communities of a midwife/nurse and discuss with nursing staff the specificities of midwifery/nursing work.
