OS00DW33 Intensive Care I (5 cr)
Prerequisites You have passed 120 CR nursing studies (including medication math exams).
Objectives 1. I apply my nursing skills in critical care situations.
2. I draw reasoned conclusions about a critical care patient's vital signs and changes in them.
3. I choose the most important nursing methods for the critical care patient, applying reliable, evidence-based knowledge.
4. I describe the care environment of a critical care patient.
5. I safely administer medication to the critically ill and apply my medication management skills in a variety of primary care and nursing settings.
6. I can use diagnostic tests to make nursing decisions for patients.
7. I act in a collegial and ethical manner in learning situations, applying CRM skills.
8. I can assess my skills and develop my own activities in a goal-oriented way.
Content 1. Monitoring the basic vital functions and overall well-being of the intensive care patient.
2. Preparing for and anticipating changes in vital functions.
3. The use and exploitation of care technology in decision-making.
4. Preparedness for rapidly changing situations.
5. Aseptic action.
6. Specific features and requirements of drug therapy in critical care.
7. Specificities of paediatric intensive care.
8. Multidisciplinary teamwork, communication, information and continuity of care.
