Description


OS00DW11 Anatomy and Physiology (5 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisites needed.
Objectives The student
- knows the key concepts of anatomy and physiology.
- knows the structures of the human body and their location.
- knows the structure and function of organs and organ systems and the regulatory systems of the body and their importance to the functioning of the human body.
Content Part 1: Basic Structures and Functions
Cell. Tissues. Skin. Musculoskeletal system. Blood. Circulation. Respiration. Digestion. Lymphatic system. Urinary system. Reproductive system.

Part 2: Nervous and Endocrine Systems
Endocrine system. Water and salt balance. Acid-base balance. Thermoregulation. Nervous and sensory systems.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The student demonstrates his/her competence through learning tasks, tests and exams.
Execution methods The student develops his/her knowledge of anatomy and physiology through lectures and the textbook, as well as by doing exercises from the workbook and the Moodle learning environment. The student deepens his/her knowledge by actively participating in practical classes.
Materials Literature and other learning material will be announced before the start of the course in the Moodle learning environment
