OL00CF56 Outpatient care (5 cr)
Prerequisites This study module can be chosen when the student has completed minimum of 120 credits of nursing studies. The module ´Näyttöön perustuva sairaanhoitotyö´ (theory and practical training) is completed, or the student has acquired equivalent skills through work experience.
Objectives 1. The student evaluates and identifies patients' needs for care in outpatient and home environments
2. The student guides and supports clients' adherence to care
3. The student implements nursing care in outpatient and home environments
Content 1. Customer service in nursing
2. Systematic evaluation of needs for care and supporting adherence
3. Nursing care in outpatient and home environments
4. Advanced studies in pharmacology and medication calculation
5. Advanced studies in nursing ethics

- is able to describe essential nursing care and methods in an outpatient and home environment.

The student:
- is able to evaluate and identify needs for care in a comprehensive manner.
- is able to implement various methods in counselling and supporting adherence.
- is able to implement essential nursing care and methods in an outpatient and home environment considering patient safety.

excellent (5)
The student:
- implements assessment of the client's care needs, identifies a broad range of care needs and makes justified observations about the client's care needs.
- implements counselling and supports adherence using a variety of justified and evidence based methods.
- is able to implement nursing care in a patient-safe, varied and well-founded manner and is able to evaluate the usefulness of them
