0S00DW40 Interprofessional Assessment of the Need for Patient Health and Social Service (4 cr)
Prerequisites The student has completed:
3 semesters of studies mainly completed
Objectives 1) The student can the principles of client-oriented interviewing and systematic examination, identify abnormalities in normal body functions, patient's health and life situation.
2) The student can assess the care and service needs of clients of different ages and backgrounds, using multidisciplinary skills.
3) The student can make a proposal for the care and service needs of a patient using a variety of collected and researched information in a multidisciplinary manner.
4) The student know electronic services for the assessment and promotion of client well-being, health and functional capacity and can refer clients to them.
Content 1) The diseases of clients of different ages and with different care needs and the multidisciplinary assessment of care needs in collaboration with the patient.
2) Preliminary patient information, systematic interview, observation, systematic clinical examination and the use of various indicators.
3) Evidence-based methods for the assessment of well-being, health and functional capacity
4) Electronic services and their use
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The student study the theory and other material assigned in the learning environment and do the assignments for the course
The student takes an active part in the compulsory exercises and simulations

1) I know the basic principles of client-oriented interviewing and systematic examination, identify the most common abnormalities in the normal functions of the body, the patient's health and life situation.
2) I know how to assess the care and service needs of clients of different ages and backgrounds, using multidisciplinary skills.
3) I make suggestions about the patient's care and service needs.
4) I know about electronic services to assess and promote client wellbeing, health and functional capacity and can refer clients to them.

good (3-4)

3) I propose appropriate patient/client-centred care and service needs, utilising differently collected and researched information in a multi-professional manner.
4) I use e-services to assess and promote client well-being, health and functional capacity in a patient/client-centred way and I am able to guide clients/patients in their use.
