Description

TF00BO06 Concrete Structures 2 (5 cr)
Prerequisites Concrete Structures 1, Concrete Material Technology 1 and 2 or corresponding knowledge of above-mentioned courses.
Objectives The student acquires the skills required in the design principles of demanding concrete structures in ultimate and serviceability limit state and the practice of structural design of reinforced concrete structures. The student can describe tensioning methods, mechanical behaviour and theories in modelling of prestressed concrete. He is familiar with the design process of ordinary pretensioned tendons.
Content Slab structures. Structural behaviour of hyperstatic concrete structure, change of stiffness, rearrangement of force actions. Deformations of concrete member, creep, shrinkage, crack propagation. Durability of concrete structure, classes of exposure, concrete cover, crack width. Design practices and structural solutions for structural members, covers ultimate and serviceability limit states. Tensioning methods and materials. The stress state, deformations and stress loss of tensioned structure. Preparation and presentation of design documents. Local stresses, anchoring, anchorage zone.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
