Prerequisites No prequisites
Objectives To be able to operate in technical design assignments of extensive renovation projects. To know the special features in extensive repair projects, the ordinary structural solutions and materials, and to know their essential technical features, including damaging and ageing. To know the repair methods of the structures, the effect and role of house technics and to be able to apply these to planning and work assignments. To be able to draw up technical plans for refurbishment(building¿s interior and envelope) and to be able to select safe and energy efficient solutions. To know the factors and mechanisms that affect properties use of energy.
To know the problems of maintenance of our building stock, difficulties for maintenance and design process in housing companies. To now the To know the structure and use of maintenance manual, ordinary electronic- and database maintenance manuals and to know their use and relation with BIM.
Content The building stock, method of construction, structures, materials, systems of the late 20th century. Building regulations. Faults, damages, causes for damages and reparation in details (materials and building elements). Concrete construction houses, specially multistory apartment houses and their technical refurbishment. Problems with indoor air and affect of building physics and chemistry. Plumbing renewals, elevators, extra storeys/floors as a constructional assignment. The goals of energy efficiency, regulations and alternatives of construction planning in renovation. Operation environment: resident and reparation, housing companies, energy reparation and assessments of condition. Consolidation of construction- and house technics plans. Responsibility issues in planning. Technical plans and maintenances BIM Maintenance and maintenance manual of buildings. Building/construction of extensive building projects (multi-storey houses, schools, day care centers etc.). House technical systems, sanitary cabins, common facilities, roof covering, reparation of balconies and front of buildings, elevator building.
