TF00BN96 Building Construction 1 (5 cr)
Prerequisites TF00BN78 Basics of House Construction or equivalent studies.
Objectives The student has the basic knowledge of the regulations and constructional demands in designing and implementing foundations, building framework and its envelope. The student is able to use relevant sources of information, select appropriate structures and make drawings for implementation using CAD-programs. The student is able to apply the backgrounds of construction engineering, building physics and principles of sustainable development in energy efficient construction and building design and detailing and knows principals of calculation methods
Content House Construction 3 ects
Structures of foundations, building framework and envelope. Structures of spaces with special requirements for engineering structurally, moisture load or sound (public shelters, cellars, wet and cold rooms, elevators) and their structural details and detail planning. Structural demands of technical areas and systems. Fire safety and building regulations for house constructions. The contents and the making of implementation drawings.
Energy-efficiency 2 ects
Objectives, principles and provisions of energy-efficient building.
Energy-efficient design solutions and function of building physics. Exploitation of renewable energy in construction engineering/ house building. Technical quality of construction in energy efficient construction. Energy efficiency calculations for new buildings.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
