Prerequisites The student has passed the following studies: Radiological Procedures of X-ray Examinations, Professional Training of X-ray Examinations I and Professional Training of X-ray Examinations II.
Objectives Part 1. (3 ECTS) Professional Training of X-ray Examinations III
The student recognizes the need for care and guidance of patients and is able to guide the patient individually and safely in X-ray examinations. During the radiological procedure, the student demonstrates the ability to assist patients having problems with the musculoskeletal system. The student is able to carry out patient-centered, individual, and holistic X-ray examinations.
The student demonstrates the ability to independently plan, implement and assess the most common X-ray examinations of the respiratory organs and the skeletal system. The student develops the knowledge and skills necessary to perform special radiographic projections of respiratory organs and the skeletal system. The student can perform infection control according to the patient's situation. The student can optimize patient dose. The student can perform x-ray examinations in a safe manner and inform others who are involved about the radiation. The student familiarizes her/himself with the security system in her/his clinical placement and is prepared for acting under unusual conditions in the work environment.

Part 3. (1,5 ECTS) Professional Development in Radiography and Radiation Therapy
The student gains knowledge about the department of radiology or radiotherapy as an operating environment and its needs for development and leadership. The student develops skills necessary for quality assurance procedures, professional decision-making, empowerment, and development. The student evaluates her/his professional skills and future challenges taking into account the responsibilities of the radiation protection officer (RPO).
Content Part 1. (3 ECTS) Professional Training of X-ray Examinations: X-ray examinations of the respiratory organs and the skeletal system and special radiographic projections. Radiation dose optimization in X-ray examinations.

Part 2. (1,5 ECTS) Professional Training of Perioperative Imaging: Imaging in intensive care departments or in similar circumstances.

Part 3. (1,5 ECTS) Professional Development in Radiography and Radiation Therapy: Advanced professional training in the department of radiology or radiotherapy.
