OQ00DW26 Trauma Patient and Interprofessional Collaboration (3 cr)
Prerequisites The student has passed the professional studies (including drug dose calculation) of radiotherapy.
Objectives The student masters the core content related to trauma patient´s pathway and interprofessional collaboration.
The student is able to search international research related to trauma patient´s pathway and interprofessional collaboration. She/he is able to explain the effects of accidents, to describe injury mechanisms and anatomy and physiology. The student can explain to use primary survey and describe patient´s care. She/he is able to explain general principles and modalities of trauma imaging and can explain use of radiological examinations (including use of contrast media). She/he can explain the radiation protection of a patient and staff.
The student is able to assess and manage the care of a trauma patient from different professional perspectives and is able to work part of an interprofessional team.
Content Terminology of trauma patient´s pathway and nursing care.
General principles and modalities of trauma imaging and patient´s nursing care.
High energy accidents, injury mechanisms and anatomy and physiology.
Primary survey, patient´s nursing care and radiological examinations.
The use contrast media.
Radiation protection of patient and staff.
Assessment and care of a trauma patient from different professional perspectives.
Interprofessional team work and collaboration.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The student demonstrates competence through learning assignments.
Execution methods The student develops skills by actively learning, acquiring knowledge and practising.
