Prerequisites | Professional studies in Nuclear medicine and PET_CT must be passed (including drug dosage calculation). |
Objectives | The student gains basic knowledge and skills necessary to perform nuclear medicine examinations and treatments. The student familiarizes him/herself with the special needs of patients undergoing nuclear medicine examinations and treatments and has ability to give first aid. The student demonstrates ability to operate nuclear medicine imaging devices safely and appropriately. The student gains knowledge about the radiation safe manufacture of radio-pharmaceuticals. When working at nuclear medicine department, the student demonstrates ability to follow up instructions and regulations concerning radiation safety. |
Content | Clinical training in nuclear medicine department including patient guidance before, during and after the examination according to radiation protection principles. Patient centered performing of nuclear medicine and PET-CT examinations. Preparing of radio pharmaceutical. Handling and storage of radioactive waste. Safe and economical use of imaging devices. Advanced special task. First aid test. |
