OQ00CT65 | Professional Training of Angiography Examinations and Interventions (6 cr) |

Objectives | The student recognizes evidence-based knowledge that guides the planning, implementation and evaluation of angiography examinations and interventions. The student knows how to use the patient data when planning angiography examination and interventions. The student knows customer and individual oriented patient guide in most common angiography examinations and interventions. The student knows how to monitor the patient's vital functions and can react to changes in the patient's health. The student knows how to assist in monitoring and nursing the anesthesia patients breathing, blood circulation, fluid balance, pain sensation and thermal condition. The student knows how to carry out medical treatment safely. The student knows how to prepare the examination room and examination equipment for an angiography examination. The student knows how to work sterilely and act as an instrument nurse under the guidance of a radiographer. The student knows how to guide the patient in the follow-up care after the angiography examination and assists with pressing the puncture site. The student knows the radiographer's role, area of responsibility and communication skills as an important part of safe multi-professional cooperation. The student knows how register patient data in the patient information systema and recognizes the responsibility in keeping patient information confidential and follows data protection practices. The student knows how to implement continuity in patient/client care. The student follows the principles of economic and ecological sustainable development in his work. The student presents good work community skills. The student explores the safety culture of the angiography environment and knows how to prepare for abnormal incidents. The student explores the first aid readiness of the unit and knows how to act in emergency situations. The student observes the principles of radiation protection and optimization of radiation exposure in angiography examinations and interventions. The student considers the radiation safety of the patient, the patient's support person and the entire multi-professional team. The student can explain the factors affecting image quality in angiography examinations and perform the most common quality assurance procedures. The student recognizes the reference doses of angiography examinations and interventions. |
Content | Angiography examinations and interventions. Guiding and caring for the patient/client in angiography examinations and interventions. Observation and follow-up of the patient/client. Safe use of contrast agents and first aid preparedness. Ergonomics and asepsis. Adoption of safe working practices in angiography examinations and interventions. Quality assurance and optimization of radiation exposure. The radiographer as an implementer of multi-professional cooperation. |
