Description


O6354RH Computed Tomography Examinations and Procedures in Practice (6 cr)
Prerequisites The student has passed both the drug dosage calculation during the studies of Client Oriented CT and MRI Examinations and Procedures and intravenous cannulation practices during the studies of Basics of Patient Examination and Nursing Care, Professional Training.
Objectives The student demonstrates ability to perform computed tomography examinations and CT guided procedures safely and appropriately. The student gains skills necessary to guide and provide care to patients undergoing computed tomography examinations. The student understands the basics of radiation dose optimization in computed tomography examinations. The student gains skills needed in using contrast agents and in treatment of reactions due to them.
The student demonstrates ability to plan, perform and evaluate teaching session.
Content Computed tomography examinations and CT-guided procedures. Patient guidance and nursing care during computed tomography scanning and procedures. Radiation dose optimization in computed tomography. Contrast agents and treatment of reactions due to them. Teaching session.
