Description


O6206RH Professional Training of Radiological Examinations of Children and Adolescents (3 cr)
Prerequisites Nursing Care And Radiological Examinations of Child And Adolescent -course successfully completed, including drug dosage calculation.

The student must present a criminal background record request to the teacher before the professional practice begins, because working in pediatric department essentially involves working with minors.
Objectives The student is able to apply her /his earlier skills in plain radiography to pediatric radiological examinations and pediatric radiology. The student demonstrates the ability to rationalize the importance of image quality and dose optimisation. The student demonstrates the ability to perform pediatric radiological examinations and is able to act as a member in the multi-professional team during radiological examinations of children and demonstrates high skills in working life.
Content Pediatric x-ray and ultrasound examinations in pediatric radiological department as well as in PICU and ward. Patient centered dose and image quality optimisation. Counceling of children, adolescents and family in multi professional team.
