Objectives A student is able to:
1. explain the principles of design thinking and discuss how it can be applied to the service development.
2. compare the differences and similarities in the development of services and products.
3. describe how services can be innovated.
4. plan the process of holistic service development.
5. describe the process of productization.
Content New service development, new product development (NPD), customer involvement, service innovation, service concept, design thinking, productization of services

1. A student demonstrates the principles of design thinking and gives examples of them in the use of service development.
2. A students compares service development with product development by using a theoretical framework.
3. A student familiarizes with the articles on service innovation and describes the characteristics of service innovation by using a theoretical framework.
4. A student plans how to develop a service with the theoretical framework that is chosen by a student.
5. A student productizes a service with the help of a theoretical framework.
