MM00EC27 Free Accompaniment (Advanced Level) (5 cr)

Objectives I'm able to independently plan and execute various accompaniment styles, as well as interpret the melody myself, playing songs representing different stylistic directions of rhythm music.
Content In the advanced course on free accompaniment, you will delve into the more challenging styles of rhythm music, using aural learning as a building block for accompaniment, and create a solo piano arrangement of a song. The study methods are studying the recordings, on the basis of which the aim is to plan and rehearse a stylistically valid accompaniment to songs representing different styles of rhythm music.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Participating in contact teaching and completing assigned assignments. Other methods of completing the course must always be agreed separately with the teacher in charge.
