Objectives I am familiar with the most important musical historical phenomena, composers and stylistic features. I recognize key musical phenomena of the style from musical compositions both by ear and via score-reading. I can analyze the most important musical forms of the era and their melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structures, and write harmony and voice-leading in a certain style.
Content - The teaching consists of music history lectures and stylistic analysis, as well as actual analysis tasks, i.e. form and harmonic analysis, which includes reading the score. Harmony and voice-leading assignments.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Group lectures, pair work and independent work. Analysis exercises and written assignments, harmony and voice-leading assignments.

The assessment (pass/fail) is based on portfolio consisting of analysis assignments and harmony and voice-leading assignments.

Passed: The student demonstrates that they have familiarized themselves with basic knowledge about the historical phenomena, stylistic features and composers, and is able to analyze musical forms of the period and their melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structures, and to write harmony and voice-leading in a certain style.
