Objectives | Classical instrument Major: Students have learned to identify the musical forms of their main instruments' basic repertoire in particular. They can analyze their structures, harmonies and composing techniques. Pop/jazz Music Major: Students are able to write for ensembles, within the constraints of different musical genres, or in a creative and individual manner. |
Content | Classical instrument Major: Central forms of music mainly from the 17th to the 20th century: fugue, sonata form, rondo, variations, etc. Pop/jazz Music Major: Instrumentation. Horn sections, vocal ensembles, fundamentals of big band writing, basics of writing for string quartet/orchestra. Arranging with basic technologies. |
