The degree provides students with the technical and interpretative abilities required for forming an independent artistic outlook and comprehensive general knowledge of music. Students acquire a competence for developing themselves as musicians and pedagogues and as active and creative actors on nowadays working life. They learn to understand the effects and possibilities of internationality in the music field. The degree also qualifies students for further studies.

Music pedagogue education focuses on developing the student¿s technical and pedagogical expertise on their main instrument. In addition to their soloist skills students develop their instrumental skills in studies in chamber music, ensemble and/or orchestral playing, depending on the choice of main subject.

The degree includes 60 ECTS credits of pedagogical studies and pedagogical training.
The Bachelor¿s thesis can be an artistic work, an essay or a written product. An artistic work always includes a written report.

During their studies students develop into creative and versatile music professionals who are capable of working independently in the music sector.

Instruction in the degree programme is arranged as individual, group and virtual instruction. The teaching methods are flexible and capable of reacting to individual situations. They guide students towards independent work.

It is possible to complete part of the studies as an exchange student in an international partner institution, where students can advance their knowledge of their field of study and gain valuable experience of a different culture.

At the start of their studies students draw up a personal study plan, which they update every year. The learning community encourages students towards personal interaction and comprehensive growth as human beings.
