Description


OS00BW04 Mental Health Training and Family Nursing Practical Training (18 cr)
Prerequisites The student has done: Basics of Evidence Based Nursing - Practical training (including required theory studies)
Objectives - Student acts in a responsible way when working with child and adult patients and their families as part of interprofessional team (1, 2, 3).
- Student practices under supervision safe and competent medication administration (1, 2, 3).

1)
- Student is able to evaluate the patient's psychological condition, needs for care and resources.
- Student is able to meet and discuss with the patient taking into account patient´s own experiences and strengths.

2)
- Student can adapt the evidence based knowledge when working with children, adolescents and their families. Student takes into consideration the speciality of pediatric nursing and the nursing process.
- Student operates responsibly when working with children, adolescents and their families as the part of multiprofessional team and carries out directed medication.

3)
- Student practices patient-orientated guidance and is able to take into account in her/his operation the special characteristics of the woman's health care.
- Student can identify and bring up topics and themes related to sexual and reproductive health during different ages and situations of life.
- Student can adapt evidence based knowledge about maternity care and/ or gynecological nursing care when practicing in different nursing units.
- Student can estimate how pregnancy, childbirth or other changes of health condition effects nursing care process.
Content 1) Practical Training in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Nursing, 6 CR
2) Pediatric Practical Training, 6 CR
3) Practical Training in Women's nursing care, 6 CR
