Description


OS00BW01 Mental Health and Substance Abuse Nursing and Family Nursing I (8 cr)
Prerequisites The student has passed studies from second semester.
Objectives Student

1)
- Knows the changes caused by mental illness and substance abuse to the individual and close to them.
- Can evaluate psychic space and functional ability as a patient and nurse's dialog.
- Is able to face and maintain therapeutic interaction with a mental health, substance abuse and a client in in crisis.

2)
- is able to support and promote wellfare of the children and family.
- knows the meaning of illness, special needs and the meaning of hospitalisation to the children, adolescents and their families.
- can plan, take care and evaluate the evidence based nursing
- can drug calculation of children and can carry out safe medical treatment to the children and adolescents

3)
- knows the normal course and follow-up of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium period, as well as the special features of care for newborns.
- can identify typical disorders related to pregnancy and recovery after childbirth as well as typical gynecological diseases
- can identify and bring up topics and themes related to sexual and reproductive health during different ages and situations of life.

4)
- knows how to use appropriate patient- and family-centered working methods including interprofessional collaboration.

3) Nursing care promoting sexual and reproductive health, 2 CR
4) Variety of Working Methods in Mental Health, Substance Abuse Nursing and Family Nursing including interprofessional collaboration, 2 CR
