Description


OK00BY12 Practical training in gynecological midwifery care (9 cr)
Prerequisites Student has also completed at least 140 ECTS credits in nursing degree programs.
Objectives Student
- is able to integrate previous knowledge in midwifery care nursing situations in different ages of women and family and in various nursing environments and culture.
- can apply midwifery skills and methods taking changing situations into consideration
- can plan and implement counselling in sexual- and reproductive health care
- can interpret woman´s resources and ability for develope her selfcare skills
- uses self-assessment in a critical way and knows how to develop own working methods
- reflects her/his knowledge and competence in health promotion in co-operation interprofessionally
- can act in nursing of woman in exceptional situations
- practices under supervision safe and competent medication administration
Content Practical training appr. 6 weeks in gynegological ward or gynegological outpatient clinic and in perioperative nursing unit. Practical training units that meet the requirements of the EU-directives. Student Midwife's Workbook /cases.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.

Execution methods I develop my skills by working in units that require midwifery skills.
I evaluate my own work and skills during my practical training and also develop my practice based on the feedback I receive
I achieve the professional competence in midwifery required by the EU Directives in practical training placements.
In addition to the qualitative objectives, I will achieve the quantitative objectives (minimum number of EU directives for the practical training).

Further Information Recognition of Prior Learning:
Relevant work experience (1 year of work experience as a nurse). Different possibilities to recognise and assess prior learning and meet the acquired competences is to be planned with the teacher in charge of the course.

Implementation of Practical training needs to planned in advance if it takes place in an employment relationship.
