Description


OK00BW14 Leadership and management in Midwifery - practical training (3 cr)
Prerequisites The student has completed at least 140 CR in nursing degree programs.

Prerequisites: Mental Health and Substance Abuse Nursing and Family Nursing I and II Courses and Practical Trainings passed. Also Proficiency Evaluation of Nursing Competencies passed or equivalent knowledge.
Objectives Student
- deepens his/her knowledge of nursing leadership and management and own professional development
- understands the importance of interprofessional and midwifery-led practice and the importance of stakeholders in midwifery
- is able to work as a member of a team
- becomes acquainted with management and leadership work
- acts in a constructive way at work
- understands the meaning of quality assessment and quality systems in midwifery.
- knows midwife's possibilites to act as an entrepreneur
Content Practical training units that meet the requirements of the EU-directives.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Two weeks of practical training in units that meet the requirements of the EU-directives.

Execution methods I develop my skills by working in units that require midwifery skills.
I evaluate my own work and skills during my practical training and also develop my practice based on the feedback I receive
I achieve the professional competence in midwifery required by the EU Directives in practical training placements.
In addition to the qualitative objectives, I will achieve the quantitative objectives (minimum number of EU directives for the practical training).

Further Information Recognition of Prior Learning: Different possibilities to recognize and assess prior learning and meet the acquired competences is to be planned with the tutoring teacher.

The student participates in supervision of work and midwifery development day organized at the school.
