Description


OK00BW11 Midwifery Care of Family during Puerperium and Breastfeeding Counselor Training (6 cr)
Prerequisites Student has completed at least 140 CR in nursing degree programs.
Objectives Student
1)
- knows the physiology of regular puerperium and the basics of assessing and treating the condition of childbirth.
- recognizes changes and disturbances in the puerperium
- can support early interaction and parenting growth.
- knows how to promote the sexual and reproductive health of the family during puerperium.
- deeps my guidance skills in the health-promoting nursing of the birthing family.

2)
- knows how to monitor the condition of a healthy newborn and the basics of treatment.
- recognizes situations in the condition of a newborn that require observation and treatment.
- knows how to support and guide parents in the care of a newborn.
- knows the basics of assessing and treating a newborn who requires special observation.


3)
- can guide families in newborn nutrition and various breastfeeding situations.
- identify specific issues related to infant nutrition and breastfeeding.
- is able to implement nursing practices that promote breastfeeding
- complete the Breastfeeding Counselier Qualification in accordance with the WHO (20h)

Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods I demonstrate my competence with learning assignments and tests, which I use to assess and demonstrate my own competence.

I complete the WHO Breastfeeding Instructor Training (20h).
I implement a breastfeeding guidance screen during midwifery training
Execution methods I develop my competence by acquiring knowledge of the content of midwifery work for the woman and family who gave birth, by working independently and in small groups, doing course assignments, and by practicing in skill workshops and simulation exercises.

- is able to identify and define the phenomena and basic concepts related to midwifery work of the woman and family who gave birth.
- Knows different methods of guidance, assessment and treatment of postpartum midwifery, but cannot justify her choices.
- Theoretical knowledge is narrow and concise.

Student
- can justify learned based on the theoretical knowledge of the midwifery of a woman who gave birth and a family.
- describes and apply the cause-and-effect relationships between the phenomena and concepts associated with postnatal midwifery.
- can reflect on what I have learned from the perspective of practical examples.

excellent (5)
Student
- combine and can apply theoretical knowledge to the professional context of midwifery for the woman who gave birth and the family.
- understand the issues related to postpartum midwifery and the cause-and-effect relationships between them.
- can valuate and justify different solution options for postnatal midwifery with the help of applied examples
