OK00BW09 Midwifery Care of Mother and Family during Pregnancy (5 cr)
Prerequisites Student has completed at least 140 CR in nursing degree programs.
Objectives Student understands the normal course of pregnancy and how the possible changes in it effect woman and fetus.
Student is able to identify and anticipate high-risk pregnancy and is able to work as a member of interprofessional team
Student is able to evaluate, strengthen and support families in resource oriented way on sexual and reproductive health and parenthood.
Student is able to understand the implications of multiculturalism and knows the contents of national vaccination program.
Content Pregnancy monitoring and examination after birth: methods and guidance
Identification, follow-up and care of high-risk pregnancies
Supporting Parenthood and Early Bonding. Family Coaching
Multiculturalism in Midwifery Care and vaccinations
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods I demonstrate my competence through learning tasks, which I use to assess and demonstrate my own skills. Exam.
Execution methods I develop my skills by acquiring and analysing knowledge about midwifery for pregnant women and families, by working independently and in small groups on course assignments, and by practising in skills workshops and simulation exercises.
