TH00CR20 Advanced Studies 2 of Welding Coordination (5 cr)
Prerequisites The prerequisite for participation in the 'Advanced Studies 2 of Welding Coordination' -course is an approved completion of the 'Basics of Welding Coordination' -course.
Objectives 1. Understand the basic about tension and deformation factors in welded fabrications and how these effects can be minimized.

2. Understand the principles of design of static and cyclic loading structures. You can analyze about the welding technical critical structures.

3. Understand the demands of the high-quality welding production.

4. You are able to take technical and economic viewpoints into consideration. You are able to act as a welding coordinator.

5. You develop the quality and productivity of the welding production.
Content Construction and design:
- Static and cyclic loading
- Distortion in welded fabrications
- Weld design
- Co-operation of fabrication and designing

Fabrication and quality
- Productivity, economics and quality of welding operations
- Welding coordination according with ISO 3834 and ISO 1090-2
- Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
- Special characteristic in welded fabrication
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The course is assessed by a written exam and the possible repetition of the exam is carried out as agreed
Execution methods Teaching methods: Contact teaching and interactive e-learning.
