Objectives | The student describes the physiology of pain and understands the experiential nature of pain. The student can plan the examination of a client with a pain symptoms and understands the importance of a respectful encounter. The student knows and applies client-centered and evidence-based methods of physiotherapy for the client with pain symptoms and recognizes if he needs support or services from other professionals. |
Content | 1. Pain and examination of pain in physiotherapy 2 cr The physiology of pain and the experiential nature of pain. Examination and appreciative encounter of a client with pain symptoms. 2.Physiotherapy for a client in pain 1 cr The client-centered physiotherapy process and evidence-based physiotherapy methods for the client in pain. |

The student explains the physiotherapy process for a client with pain and knows some of the evidence-based methods used in pain physiotherapy. good (3-4) The student describes the physiology and the experience of pain. The student plans physiotherapeutic examination of a client with pain and uses pain assessment methods. The student can plan physiotherapy and apply evidence-based and client-centered methods in the physiotherapy of a client with pain. The student understands the importance of a dignified encounter with the client in pain. excellent (5) The student describes the physiology of pain and the experiential nature of pain. The student describes the elements of a respectful encounter with a client in pain and applies them to interactions. The student knows different methods of pain assessment and applies them in a reasoned way. The student describes the physiotherapy process for the client with the pain and applies evidence-based physiotherapy methods in an appropriate and client-centered way. |
