OF00DV87 | Practical Training in Optional Field of Physiotherapy I (9 cr) |
Prerequisites | Competence in physiotherapeutic assessment, physiotherapy methods, therapeutic exercises and teaching and guiding in physiotherapy according to the curriculum, as well as practicing their application in previous practical training periods agreed with the tutor and approved. |
Objectives | The student applies his evidence based physiotherapy knowledge in versatile customer and expert tasks. He acts as a member of a multi-professional rehabilitation or development team as a representative of physiotherapy and conducts professional dialogue both with colleagues in mono- and multiprofessional teams. When working with clients, their family members and others participating in rehabilitation he meets everyone appropriately. He justifies his therapy with evidence-based information and evaluates effectiveness of physiotherapy as part of the client's comprehensive rehabilitation process. The student recognizes his own strengths and development targets as a physiotherapist. He understands the importance of continuous learning for his professional growth. |
Content | 1. Practical training in rehabilitation field or in developmental projects, 8 cr. 2. Multiprofessiona rehabilitation, 1 cr. |
Recommended optional programme components | If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan. |
Accomplishment methods | 1. Practical training in rehabilitation field or working in a project according to a separate agreement. Learning tasks. 2. Multiprofessional rehabilitation days |
Execution methods | The student can do his internship e.g. in social and health sector organizations, research and development organizations, in the third sector and in the Oamkin Terwa Academy. He can also apply for cr.editing his work experience as part of practical training. As part of the supervised practice, the student is recommended to participate in the teaching situations of the physiatry outpatient clinic starting from the fourth semester (the student agrees with the teacher in charge and approves his/her work time recording each semester). |

pass/fail Accepted when the student has: -sent his/her introduction and preliminary goals to the placement in time as guided -made and followed his/her preset schedule and informed the supervisor and teacher if chances -acted ethically and taken care of data safety -shown responsibility, professional curiosity and reflected his/her learning in different ways -been self-directive in asking and utilizing feedback got from the supervisors -at the end of the period submitted the schedule, learning assignment and self reflection into Moodle -taken part on info and reflection sessions at the campus Practical training criteria set by Finnish Physiotherapy Educator in co-operation with "Harkka" -project are applied also. Those are published in Physiotherapy Moodle. |
