Objectives | The student knows the basics of pathology, pathophysiology and clinical physiology, and understands the importance of them in his/her profession. The student has gained knowledge of the main functions of the human body as well as of their pathophysiological mechanisms under different crisis situations of the body. The student masters the main concepts of the pathology, and the pathological changes in the system. |
Content | Pathology: Research methods in pathology; Factors behind the diseases; Cell failure and cell death; Death and research on causes of death; Infection; Recovery of tissues; Changes in blood vessels and circulatory disorders; Anomalies of tissue and organ sizes, Tumours, immune diseases and inheritability. Pathophysiology: Pathophysiology of the blood circulation and respiratory system; Disorders of acid-base balance; Disorders of fluid and electrolyte balance; Pathophysiology of digestive tract and kidneys. Clinical Physiology: Clinical-physiological examinations of the respiratory, circulatory and digestive system. Examinations of kidneys and the urinary tract. |
