7E00BR41	Advanced Level Prehospital Emergency Care and Proficiency Examination (20 cr)
Prerequisites	Prerequisites: Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation, studies in Basic Level Prehopsital Emergency Care (including proficiency examination). Practical Training of Intensive Care, Advanced Level Prehospital Emergency Care.
Objectives	1) Prehospital emergency care: Student is able to practice in accordance with the paramedic profession`s codes of ethics and conduct and meet the obligations and responsibilities of paramedics work at advanced level. Student is able to take responsibility for the patient examination: analyse and assess systematically the basic vital functions, the overall situation and prognosis at advanced level. Student can make a work diagnosis and carry out care on the basis of the patient's most severe symptoms. Student is capable to interact appropriately with other emergency services and authorities on scene. Student can utilize medical and communication technology appropriately and safely. Student masters recording and reporting the patient's history, condition and treatment. Student can co-operate with other authorities effectively and take responsibility for the situation management at emergency scene. Student is able to apply CRM principles when leading the prehospital emergency team. Student can select and utilize appropriate interventions, perform on-going assessments and provide advanced level emergency care based on assessment findings. Student is able to assess if there is a need for the ambulance transportation and carry out patients care during transportation. 2) Anesthesia nursing Student is able to master the basic knowledge and skills required for the anesthesia nursing, be able to make decisions and work as a nurse. Student is able to work ethically and safely using reliable evidence-based information in anesthesia nursing. 3) Proficiency examination in advanced level emergency care: Student is able to carry out responsibilities in examination and implementation of prehospital emergency care at advanced level. Student is able to take responsibility for the patient systematic examination at advanced level. Student can make a work diagnosis and carry out care safely on the basis of the patient's most severe symptoms. Student is able to justify the treatment decisions based on reliable evidence. Student can identify life-threatening conditions and carry out the immediate life saving procedures. Student can select and carry out appropriate interventions, perform on-going assessments and provide advanced level care based on assessment findings. Student is able to assess if there is a need for the ambulance transportation and carry out patients care during transportation. Student can communicate effectively with the team and the patient. Student has ability to utilize medical and communication technology appropriately and safely. Student masters recording and reporting the patient's history, condition and treatment. Student is capable for self-evaluation of his/her skills and knowledge of advanced level paramedic.
